Operation Smile Australia Limited

Operation Smile Australia is an international medical charity that provides free surgeries to children and adults who suffer from cleft conditions and craniofacial deformities, forever changing their lives.

A child is born every 3 minutes with a cleft condition, often unable to speak, eat, socialise or smile. In some places, and in too many cases, their parents cannot afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life.

Operation Smile Australia has developed expertise in mobilizing volunteer medical teams to conduct surgical missions in resource-poor environments while adhering to the highest standards of care and safety. Operation Smile Australia helps fill the gap in providing access to safe, well-timed surgeries by partnering with hospitals, governments and ministries of health, training local personnel, and donating much-needed supplies and equipment to surgical sites around the world.

It takes as few as 45 minutes and costs as little as $240 to provide surgery to a child with a cleft condition.
